Plans & Pricing

FilmBase is one product on a subscription. There is no feature-limited tier: monthly and yearly buy the same app, and the yearly plan is the cheaper way to run it for a full slate. See pricing for current rates in your currency.

  • Monthly: renews every month. Suited to a single production with a defined wrap date.
  • Yearly: renews every 12 months, at a lower effective monthly cost.

Both are auto-renewing subscriptions: they continue, and are charged, until you cancel. The price and renewal length are shown on the plan cards inside the app before you subscribe, in your own currency as the store reports it.

Free Trial

Both plans start with a 7-day free trial. The trial converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before it ends, so if you are only evaluating, set yourself a reminder a day out. A trial is available once per account per plan.

Where You Subscribe

You subscribe inside the app, and the store you installed from handles the payment. Open Subscription in the left sidebar of the project hub to see the plans, the price, the renewal length, and links to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

  • macOS: billed through your Apple Account.
  • Windows: billed through your Microsoft account.

There is no FilmBase account, no license key, and no separate sign-in. Once the subscription is active the app opens ready to work.

The two stores are separate businesses, so a subscription in one does not unlock the other. Working across macOS and Windows means subscribing in each store.

Managing Your Subscription

The Subscription page in FilmBase shows what you are on: the plan, whether it renews, and the date it renews or access ends. Changing the plan, updating the card, and cancelling all happen in your store account, because that is where the payment lives. The page links straight there.

Switching Plans

Switch between monthly and yearly in your Apple Account or Microsoft account subscription settings. The store handles the proration; FilmBase picks up the change the next time it checks.

Cancelling

Cancel in your store account at any time. Cancelling stops the next charge; it does not cut you off immediately. You keep the full app until the end of the period you have already paid for, and FilmBase shows that date as Access ends with a Cancelled marker, so there is no ambiguity about how long you have.

Your projects are files on your own disk. They are not deleted, locked, or held when a subscription lapses. You keep them, and they open again when you resubscribe.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by the store that took the payment, under its own policy: Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com, Microsoft through your account's order history. We cannot process a store refund on your behalf, but if something is wrong with the app itself, tell us, because that part we can fix.

Computers & Offline Use

The subscription follows the store account, not one particular computer. Install FilmBase on another Mac signed in to the same Apple Account, or another PC on the same Microsoft account, and it is covered, which helps when the production office computer and your laptop are both in play.

New or Rebuilt Computer

Install from the same store while signed in to the same account. There is nothing to deactivate on the old computer and no key to move. To bring the work across, copy your project files or restore a backup. See Backup & Restore.

Working Offline

An internet connection is needed to install FilmBase and to confirm the subscription. Day to day the app runs offline, which is the point on a location shoot with no signal. Team collaboration needs a local network between the computers, but not internet access.

If the app reports it cannot confirm your subscription, connect to the internet once and reopen it. The Subscription page shows when it last checked.
